Event Description

Bout proceeds from the Chicago Outfit Roller Derby League benefit partner charities, such as the American Cancer Society, Ignite the Spirit, Girls Rock! Chicago, and more.  Tonight's bout will benefit the Help Tequila fund.  On August 25, 2007, Tequila Mockingbird, a roller girl since 2004, fell and seriously injured her spinal cord during a bout.  Since that day, Tequila has returned home and works daily in therapy to regain her strength and physical abilities.

What we'll be doing

We'll be setting up the track for the skaters, and the seating area for spectators!  It takes a large crew of eager volunteers to move and lay down pieces of masonite and set up about 800 chairs.

What you should know

Wear comfortable clothes you can move around in.  Then, if you have time, please plan to stay and socialize with us while we watch the bout (for free!) and enjoy the half-time show, which features a local act.  There's food and beer available for purchase after our shift.

Where to meet

Walk into the front entrance of the Windy City Fieldhouse, and keep walking straight into the large gym area.  That's where we'll meet, work, and watch the bout.

Other Info: All One Brick volunteers must be 21 years of age or older. You can park for free inside the Target parking structure, for our volunteer shift and the duration of the bout.
