Sun, October 14th: Athletic Field Park Fall Fest

Dear One Brick Volunteers: We are a small nonprofit that helps hundreds of community organizations each year. We run on a shoestring budget, but we have expenses like insurance, this website, and training materials. We also employ one person who makes sure the train stays on its track. We don't get any foundation or government grants. 30% of the budget is raised during the Annual Campaign going on right now. This year we need to raise $30,000 to keep One Brick afloat. Last year hundreds of volunteers donated $10 or $20 and it made a huge difference.

If you found One Brick useful this year, and you feel we are
making a difference, please consider making a donation.

Thank You

Event Description

The Fall Fest is our annual fundraiser and the money that is raised during the Fall Fest supports the events that we offer throughout the year. The Fall Fest is a fun day for families to enjoy all that fall has to offer. We will have a Pony Wheel, Petting Zoo, Pumpkin Patch, Face Painting, Refreshments, and Music. It will take place this year from 11am - 4pm on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14. In past years, we have had approximately 1500-2000 people attend throughout the weekend.

What we'll be doing

One Brick volunteers will be helping at several stations at the fest.  Volunteers will also assist in clean-up after the event.

    • Ticket sales - Sell tickets, prep of tickets, answering general questions, selling raffle tickets & canvas bags (this is the only station that will handle money)
    • Concessions - Food prep (slicing pie, making coffee & cider, wrapping muffins, etc), selling food & beverages (paid for with tickets)
    • Pumpkin Patch - Collecting tickets, monitoring pumpkin patch & pumpkin painting table
    • Pony Wheel - Collecting tickets, monitoring pony wheel entrance
    • Petting Zoo - Collecting tickets, monitoring petting zoo entrance
    • Face Painting - painting faces (a few basic pictures), collecting tickets, monitoring

Organization: Athletic Field Park Advisory Council

We are a small group who are dedicated to supporting our local neighborhood park and helping to unite our neighborhood community by encouraging families to utilize the park, keep the neighborhood clean, and offer children safe and fun place to spend time. We provide free events throughout the spring & summer such as Easter Egg Hunt (for young children), Movies in the Park (for all ages), Movin' to the Music (music, chalk, bubbles at the playground - geared toward young children), Summer Dance (music & dance lessons - for all ages), and Cleaning up the Parkways (volunteer opportunity for all ages). We also financially support improvements to the park and help fund the needs of park programs.

Driving: If driving, take the Addison exit from the Kennedy & the park is located just east of the highway.

Transit: Close to the Blue Line to Addison stop and the 152 Addison bus.
