Ride for AIDS Chicago is a two-day, 200-mile; bicycling event produced by Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) and designed to raise needed monies for TPAN and people living with HIV and AIDS in the Chicago-land area. The ride leaves on Saturday morning July 14th from Evanston, IL and on into Wisconsin. Riders return to Chicago on Sunday July 15th followed by closing ceremonies. Unlike other rides of this kind, Ride for AIDS Chicago is committed to returning 100% of its pledges to the beneficiaries. We are a grassroots event, committed to keeping costs as low as possible.
One Brick volunteers will be assisting in preparing Gatorade, cutting up fruit, helping riders with water and snacks at our last pit stop a.k.a. Rider Holding. The riders will be coming home after a 2 day 200 mile bike ride for charity. This is their final pit stop before crossing the finish. Volunteers will be passing out T-shirts for closing ceremonies, serving pizza from Leona’s to riders and crew as they come in, helping with our cooling stations by providing iced rags to riders. This stop is considered a “Pre-Party” before the closing ceremonies. We need lots of energetic and happy people providing cheers and warm welcomes for each individual pulling into this final pit stop.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE EVENT ON ONE BRICK SITE AND AT VOLUNTEER SPOT. (http://www.volunteerspot.com/login/entry/4223456344983360104)
At Volunteer Spot, sign up for the shift titled RIDER HOLDING VOLUNTEERS.
You have the option to list a t-shirt size on the Volunteer Spot registration. Otherwise, please wear a RED t-shirt for the event.
One Brick Detroit is planning to drive in to help at the event as well! So come share some One Brick spirit and cheer on the riders!
