Event Description

Escape from city life for a few hours and take part in one of the best kept secrets within the heart of Chicago's fastest growing neighborhoods.  One Brick volunteers will support City Farm by harvesting, planting, weeding, picking, and bestowing pretty much any love that the farm needs.

What you should know

This event is rain or shine - so please RSVP only if you're not afraid to get dirty in case of rain. All One Brick volunteers must be 21 or older. Due to the amount of work outdoors that is usually associated with this event, bringing a water bottle is recommended.

Where to meet

There is street parking along Clybourn and Division. The red line "North/Clybourn" stop  and Brown line Sedwick stop is a close by also if you prefer public transportation.

Other Info: All volunteers must be at least 21 years old.

Organization: City Farm

City Farm is a sustainable organic farm bordering two very diverse Chicago neighborhoods: Cabrini Green and The Gold Coast. Located on the west side of Clybourn Avenue, just north of Division Street, the farm boasts 30 varieties of tomatoes as well as beets, carrots, potatoes, gourmet lettuces, herbs and melons. All produce is grown in composted soil generated from various sources, such as restaurant trimmings from some of the city's finest kitchens.

Driving: On the northwest corner of Clybourn and Division. Street Parking available.

Transit: Public transit is really easy - take the Division bus, the Red Line to Clark & Division or the Brown line to Sedgwick.
